Seperate Spawn Locations
Quote from justice on May 29, 2011, 12:22 pmHello anyone who is reading this,
Recently I have been messing around with the Portal 2 authoring tools and I must say it is quite fun. But to cut right to the chase, I am curious as to whether or not it is possible to achieve separate spawn locations for the each player participating in coop.I have certainly read http://wiki.p2mods.com/index.php?title= ... he_players many times and it has been helpful even though it mentions only one spawn room. As well, I am aware of the instance but again that is just one spawn room. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated or if it isn't even feasible and I am just wasting my time, that would be good to know as well.
Thank you for any possible help!

However, it is generally a sign of a map where the players are put in to separate tracks where they can't directly interact or switch places. This tends to make for frustrating maps that are very constricting and I would encourage you to consider just having two paths diverge from a common spawn room so that they players can at least swap tracks.

Although what I have in mind wont be nearly as frustrating or aggravating as you may think. I know I am speaking cryptically and I apologize for that. I just do not want to prematurely throw my idea out without actually building a proper map, testing it, seeing if it is actually viable and, most of all, fun!
Again I apologize and thank you for your post! It was certainly something I had considered before, and it may certainly end up like that if I cannot get these spawn points to work!
