Quote from Lpfreaky90 on December 20, 2011, 9:09 pmHello,
As you might have seen in the signature of thecakeisaspy and my own a team of five members are currently working on a mod called portal stories. Some of the maps we created so far are quite big and have lots of details in them. By optimization we can reduce the amount of work your computer has to do, but there is a point where further optimization is impossible.
We want our mod to look as good as possible but also run on as much computers as possible. That's a problem, so we're searching for a good balance. It would be great if you could insert your computer specs here, so we can estimate where that balance has to be.
A few guidelines of what we like to know:
Your windows experience index (can be found on control panel -> system)
Your cpu (processor)
Your gpu (graphical card)
The amount or ram you haveHow to get this information (windows vista and 7):
Go to Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> SystemsThen look for these things:
Rating:
Processor:
Installed Physical memory (RAM):Then click in the menu to the right device manager and look for display adapters, and note that name as well.
to the right the device manager, to the left the other settingsThank you very much for the info!

I think in terms of boolean variables. Generally, it makes things easier.
