[resolved]Any ideas why my gel looks like this?

Instead of the light blue color it looks like this ugly dark blue, same with the orange paint.

I've seen this on a few maps other then my own also. Am I doing something wrong?

Wow... That is really ugly. How about you upload your .vmf so we can see if it comes out the same on our computers. Also possibly upload a complied version of the map so we can see if it is the compile options. I have never seen that before though.

I have seen a lot of people with this problem and I'm going to make a guess that it only works like that on those particular white surfaces because on most other surfaces it works fine for me, but on a couple surfaces like those it doesn't look so great.

Make sure you're not using a vertex texture.

I'll check it out and let you know if i figure it out.

I was thinking it was something to do with textures too.

It does it no matter what texture I choose, very ugly looking gel color.

Heres my vmf

I figured it out.

I was using "env_ambient_light" to light my map, I guess their is some conflict with that entity and lighting up the gel that it doesn't like. Hopefully this helps people having similar problems.

I changed it to a "light" entity and it works great.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that the ambient light is just what ever color you want to be normally in your map, and will appear in shadows, so it was probably ending up under your gels and all sorts of nasty stuff.
