Anyway heres some brief details and a few screenies:
PMK 5 is split into two fairly large sections, the latter of which involves the companion cube. Advanced and challenge versions are included and also two small bonus maps were made just for fun
Enjoy

Quote from compherm on May 8, 2009, 9:02 pmAwesome. It's been almost a year since PMK 4, so I'm excited.
Edit: I played it and was very satisfied. There was one part that I had to tunnel, as I could not find the expected solution, but it was not a huge deal. It is where there are two buttons on either side of a door, both which control the door (right after some turrets). I did have one major problem, though.
When you first get to the companion cube, the game kept crashing for me. I think if you let go of it, then the game doesn't know what to do. I finally got it to work, but it crashed 3 times before I did.

Quote from reepblue on May 9, 2009, 2:46 amThat was the best Portal map I have ever played in a great while. It was worth waiting for.
I like the
Cake pieces in were you collected them to unlock more maps.
. The music was a grand slam and over all the 5a and 5b rooms were epic.
I might do a video on this map, cause thats how much I like it.
Keep up the great work.

Sorry for the inconvience dude. Also tunneling isn't required for that room unless you lose the cube by throwing it on the ledge your ment to jump to.

Cheers dude. Feeling pretty good about all that work put into it now. I'm really glad you enjoyed it

Quote from portalgrinder on May 9, 2009, 1:51 pmThis is without a doubt the best map of the PMK serie. It is obivious how much work went into it by looking at how huge and detailed it is. Also the music is really creepy and atmospheric and added a lot to the experience.
I found all the hidden cakes after my second playthrough, and at least one of them had me thinking hard on how to reach it. This is a really great idea to have the bonus rooms unlocked by finding cake.
I beat the advanced version too. I liked it because despite being harder, it wasnt impossible like some other advanced chambers i've seen. The bonus map were short and sweet. I really liked the
'bullet time' fonction of 5a
, it'd be interesting to see this concept implemented in a larger map. 5b was great too, i achieved gold on the portal challenge and almost made silver on the time one. I've been up all night playing it and i had to force myslelf to go to sleep or else i would still be trying to beat that challenge...
With this release you made my day, thank you !
One thing though,
while i was looking for cake
, i managed to portal myslef under the grid that is on the floor in the main room of the second act. I was sure there would be something there but when i saw missing textures and i realized i was trapped, i figured that going there was not intended.
