verticular.zipThe second run was arguably even more enjoyable than the first, as I found a couple of ways to get through in a faster and more stylish way... Cheers for sharing!

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like it. And yes, there is more than one way to get through. As for the .dem file, I put it in common/portal2/portal2 and tried Shift+F2 to play it and I got "bad inline model #1." I even tried timedemo verticular in the console but got errors. I also tried putting the file in the maps folder and using timedemo maps/verticular but got same error. I have some knowledge and understanding about using the console and the commands, but perhaps you could provide me more in how to do the playback.
Thanks.

Quote from El Farmerino on May 31, 2012, 9:13 pmAh, sorry - 'playdemo verticular' should do the trick. I'm pretty sure all my solutions are intended - map seems pretty airtight in that regard - but it's still nice to get a look at how people approach it sometimes...

I've even typed demo into the console to look for other commands and tried everything including the one you suggested. Even when I type the first 2 or 3 letters of the map name, such as 'playdemo ver' the auto suggest drop-down appears showing the full name. It's as if it knows it's there but wont play it. There could be perhaps something wrong with the file. I did unzip it and tried placing it in both the Portal2 folder as well as Maps folder.
edit: I also tried verifying game cache integrity and restarting Steam. That did not work either.

Quote from El Farmerino on June 1, 2012, 1:44 amHmm, dunno - even just deleted the file and re-downloaded from here and it still works fine. Where are you trying to load it from? Sometimes I've had problems trying to load a demo from in-game (never works if you try from the PTI editor) but loading from the main menu should always work. If not, I can't really help you - file seems fine for me.

Quote from SkyFerret on June 1, 2012, 4:35 amI tried deleting and downloading again, and it's still not working. I was always trying to load it from the game's main menu just as you mentioned.
This is the error message it gives me. It almost as if it's looking in the PTI Editor directory for it. Maybe I'll try placing it in one of the PTI map folders later on and see what happens.
Host_Error: CMapLoadHelper::Init, unable to open maps/workshop/576705883597580969/1338436536.bspOther than that, I guess I'll just see what else I can do to fix any issues. But anyways, I appreciate the help. Thank you.

Quote from SkyFerret on June 2, 2012, 12:19 amWell I'll be #????*=# damned. So here's the phrase that caught my attention almost immediately when I did some research. I didn't even click on the Google search results because the short text notes under it said "you must subscribe before hand in order to play the .DEM file." Now "that" is why the error message seemed to be telling me something about not finding it in the PTI directories. I subscribed to my own map, and then tried it. BINGO, it works.
So anyways, now that I was able to play the DEM file, I enjoyed watching it. I knew there was more than one set way to complete the puzzle, but some of your moves I wasn't expecting. Some were kind of clever near the end. Thanks for sharing.

Quote from Dreey on June 2, 2012, 1:42 pmAwesome map! Really nice puzzles!
Took me about 5 minutes to complete the test, well done!
I'm giving it a 5/5 because it was a very pleasant test chamber.
