Well, the way I got back to the beginning didn't allow me to do that. What I did to get back was [spoiler]portal the floor where I started the fling[/spoiler] and then I [spoiler]portaled the wall[/spoiler] to get out from behind the death rays.

Witout a place where you are forced to put the cube (in this case on top of the laser beam) it will be hard to figure out how turn off the laser grid.

I don't think it's a real problem, gettin stuck is a part of the game.
