I skipped nearly everything by using the catapult and shooting a portal over the emancipation grill while at the peak of the jump. I don't know an easy way to fix it, but it really bypasses nearly the entire level.

It was hard to get a shot of what I meant, so I booted up fraps.

After I show it broken, I try to find the intended solution. While doing that I realized what I described earlier is not the break, but I'm pretty sure there's still some breaks in there.

Much better! Even when I thought I was taking the intended path, apparently there were still elements that I was missing. Or perhaps those were the "other modifications" you were talking about. Anyway, the chamber is pretty awesome now.

I still found a few breaks, most of them minor, and actually harder than the intended path. Though there is one pretty major one: If you do some air-strafing off the primary floor faithplate, you can land yourself on the exit floor. So the player could complete the level as soon as he's got a cube, bypassing 90% of the awesomeness.
