[PTI] Funnel3
Quote from ebol on January 5, 2013, 7:56 pmAnother chamber involving funnel usage.
The test subject will note that the use of a button timer is a required component of the upcoming test.
We remind our test subjects that all button timers have been calibrated and tested in compliance with the Aperture Science button timer operation and safety protocols, and as such, no feelings of distress or frustration may arise as a result of their use.
Any feelings of distress or frustration the test subject may experience in the process of completing the upcoming test are thus in no way related to the test, but instead an unintended consequence of the test subject.

Once I got the first cube across to the exit,
I tossed the second cube up through a portal and caught it with the funnel before splashdown
. Put it on the bridge button, and repeated what I did for the first cube, only with me in the funnel this time.

Quote from El Farmerino on January 6, 2013, 8:17 pmThe way I did it (which I assume was intended) was
to set it up so one cube was on the bridge button and the other was on the bridge in line with it. Then place a portal up in the pedestal button room and go through one directly behind the cubes. Hit button, run and place a portal on the funnel to move the first cube over to the other side while simultaneously moving the second to replace it on button duty. Bob's your uncle.
No cube-tossing or any other shenanigans required.

Quote from ebol on January 7, 2013, 5:13 pmThanks for your comments guys! El Farmerino that is indeed the intended solution.
And thanks for pointing out that shortcut Roger. I tried doing it and its even pretty easy to execute. It seems like it could be fixed by just putting a wall around the funnel area so theres no easy access from portal walls to it (and adjusting the timer). That way when you toss the cube it will fall in the water before you can grab the funnel.
I'll think about it and edit the map as soon as I have some time.

Used the same setup as El Farmerino. The solution felt pretty clean even if I don't like timers.
Thanks for mapping.
