[PTI] Fast and Complex 2
Quote from PortalCombat on January 27, 2013, 6:24 pmSmall map with complex puzzle, which requires fast thinking. You don't need any glitches, but you should be able to place midair portals.
Difficulty: Ninja
Feel free to post comments and/or feedback.
Version: v1.3
- workaround for unintended solutions
- more difficult first jump to prevent a shortcut
- changed the timer for the funnel

Quote from PortalCombat on January 29, 2013, 8:25 pmhaha... I totally knew you would find a way around the normal solution... awesome!!
Thank you very much for this video response, it is so nice to see your alternate solution. ^^I will see how to fix this one and also the one on the first map, but still no export to hammer,
which makes it difficult for me to edit the maps with more features than the few from puzzle maker. -.-'Anyway, thank you - nice video, nice unintended solution.

I have uploaded a workaround for your current unintended solution and
luckily I just had to add one entity with the puzzle maker, so I did not
mess up anything at all, and the intended solution is still working quite well.
(i actually tried it twice, just in case I could miss something... ^^)

okay, I will test that. ^^

Quote from PortalCombat on January 31, 2013, 6:39 amWell, after watching sicklebrick's video again, and playing around on my map,
I've just found another shortcut... and had to fix that one as well. It's really hard to see these unintended ways of solving the map, when you create it,
and after seeing sicklebrick's video I felt really 'dumb', because this one, and even
the one i just fixed right now, were both really easy to see and use... -.-'I really hope I were able to fix all unintended ways of solving this map, without breaking
the puzzle itself - so I had to test the intended solution some more times and it still works.![]()

Would love to see more videos, especially blind runs. =)Version: v1.2 uploaded

Quote from PortalCombat on February 1, 2013, 11:28 amWell... small map, complex and 1 Million possible shortcuts...
I just keep finding them, and the last one even by accident...![]()
Nevermind - updated the map again - v1.3 is online now.
Is anyone trying to solve the map and is going to record a video? I would love that!

Quote from marKiu on February 1, 2013, 3:01 pmI played v.1 and can solve v.3 the same way...
I don't know what is intended or not but sadly I can't record a video solution so I try to describe some parts...
I get first cube the same way as sickle..
1. I can throw the cube from the exit platform over the glass on the other glasswall behind. Then I get up myself and place two floor portals. Go around the grate and hold the cube through it. Then throw the cube up so it bounces between the portals. Now with some timing I can shoot a portal to the top surface and jump down to the button that deativates the fizzler. With close timing the cube lands on the button and the exit is open.

2. The catapult at the exit area can be ignored. You can land on the glasswall by changing direction. Then throw the cube on the button while walking backwards.

2.1 Or you can use the catapult and drop the cube while launching... Hopefully the cube will land on the button. (sounds intended)

3.1 After using the lightbridge to get to the button that activates the funnel. I jump backwards into a floor portal and fling over the funnel to the other side. Then quickly grab the cube from the button and jump on the catapult. Airwalk again to ignore the momentum and turn backwards so the cube doesn't get fizzled. You hopefully land inside the funnel with the cube and reach the little entrance.

3.2 Or after you flinged to the other side you can grab the cube and throw it over the glass into the funnel. (was the easiest solution for me)

4. After that I continue almost the same way as sickle did. You need to shot a floor portal while flinging to the top area. Then use the funnel to let the cube drop into the portal while jumping down and pressing the fizzlerbutton by yourself.

I see what needs to be done with the second lightbridge but I couldn't find a way to save a floor portal, activate the funnel and jump around and press the bridge button in one sequence.
Anyways I like the map... I like small chambers that forces the player to explore crazy stuff. That always inspires me as a mapmaker. Thanks for creating

Quote from PortalCombat on February 1, 2013, 3:29 pmWell, most of the shortcuts and/or unintended stuff you were describing, was in my mind, too.
But I can't really figure out how to prevent it.![]()
At least there is no way to prevent them with the puzzle maker.
Could add some stuff with hammer, but I don't really want to change it that much,
because the desgin will get more and more messy with adding stuff into this small room. Here is my intended solution, and altough the video is from v1.0 it still works the same way.

Quote from sicklebrick on February 1, 2013, 4:27 pmLol, I probably would've gotten that eventually if I knew you were allowed to throw the cube!
