Portal 2 should run on a 2004 game machine, the minimum specs are a Pentium 4 3GHz and a Radeon X800. You could try updating your video drivers or if your PC is that old just get a new one. The source engine is very friendly to old PCs compared to what most games use.

Quote from spongylover123 on February 10, 2012, 11:11 amPortal 2 has new entities that Portal dont, it uses scripting, it also has blob tech, improved particles, New models, textures, that you cant convert, but portal 2 can work on low end computers.

Quote from Spam Nugget on February 10, 2012, 5:33 pmI run portal 2 on a laptop with a 2.13ghz processor and integrated graphics. Generally I can have everything set to the highest quality too. If portal 2 doesnt run on your pc, then its time to update mate.

I think in terms of boolean variables. Generally, it makes things easier.

Quote from wrathofmobius on February 12, 2012, 12:15 amIf that doesn't work, I had an issue on my laptop where the map would launch but a couple of seconds in, it'd crash. It appears to be linked to integrated graphics. I can't remember the exact fix but it had something to do with deleting a config file every time you wanted to play.
