Well, the fact is that it looks so helpful for beginners, but in my opinion that is gonna be sooo limited. What I really hope is that Valve concentrates a little bit more in improving authoring tools and release a final version after this beta ASAP!

Perhaps they are not referring to the carving tool, but simply using a figure of speech.

I agree, but I have a tendancy of doing things the complex way. So I might windup using the old hammer tools anyways.

First guy tells the second guy, "My head hurts!" The second guy replied, "Stop thinking so much!" Then the first guy says, "I think that what caused my problem in the first place!" The second guy says, "Then stop banging you head against the wall!"

That tool looks good for manifesting ideas in fast created maps. But if you really want your test chamber in a really good map, this is nothing but a sketch.

I am looking forwards to being asked by everyone: "How did you do this destroyed testchamber/create this awesome testing element? I can't find it in the editor!!!" (when I finally submit my first mappack)

Actually, the tools are only reported as Beta in Steam. If you launch the Authoring Tools, the 'Beta' tag has gone, so they're certainly final. Don't count on Valve updating them.

All I want is native 64-bit command line tools.
