well the way you do it, is make you make a folder with the exact file structure of the pak01_dir.vpk, and only edit or add files to there. then you drag that folder over to the bin/vpk.exe, and it should produce the vpk you need, but now you cant edit the .vpk, you can only edit things in the folder then re vpk them
