Portal 2 doesn't start up
Quote from Mr Waterhandle on September 6, 2012, 5:45 amI wasn't sure were this should go, but the problem might be Hammer related, so uh.
So since yesterday, Portal 2 decided it doesn't want to start up anymore. It seems to start up, and I either watch or skip the Valve intro movie, it shows the loading screen (but not loading) and then it crashes.
The only thing that's new is some of the updates, and that I installed the Portal 2 Beta Authoring Tools the day before. I have tried verifying my game cache twice, but it says nothing's wrong. What's next?

Are possibly running on a Mac? There was an issue for Mac users a few weeks ago. They put out a fix that corrected the problem. When I tried load any level, the game was crashing.....all better now!

Quote from Mr Waterhandle on September 8, 2012, 11:02 amActually I was wrong before, I'm pretty sure I only verified my tool cache.
But yesterday I deinstalled the authoring tools, and verified my game cache, and it found quite a few files. Now the game works again. Thanks everyone.
And no, I'm not using a Mac.
