Pedestal Buttons?!

Hi everyone,

I've never really used the PTI before, but I added a few buttons to test out my new logic gates. But they all had a timer widget that was stuck at 3, and could only be infinity or 3+ seconds.

How do I make it just fire a simple short pulse? Even the three-second time makes an annoying ticking sound and adds a countdown thingy at the end of the antline.

I think 3 seconds is as short as the timer can get without external edits. People often add little isolated rooms to simulate stuff like this (e.g., make the button trigger a cube dropper in a separate room which falls on a button and the length if the fall is the timed amount). Can you describe what you are trying to do and why 3 seconds is too long?

I'm trying to trigger a Sendificator through an OR gate, but when I hit the button it ticks for three seconds before stopping. It's not a problem, just...inconvenient.

But if it's connected to a cubedropper it's instantaneous? Interesting...I wonder if that's hardcoded.

Best solution I can think of for this would be something involving isolated lasers, since those are instaneous... actually, all the setups I can think of would just stutter for 3 seconds. I think Mevious has the right idea, maybe have a blue funnel pointed sideways at a button that's one square away, with a cube dropper overhead, connected to the pedestl button and made to autodrop the first cube. The button disables the Sendificator (I assume you can do this, anyway) so when the pedestal button is pressed the cube fizzles, and the Sendificator turns on for the time it takes the cube to fall back into place.

Hm. After more experimentation it seems that the pedestal button always goes for three seconds--it just doesn't make the ticking sound when it's on a boxdropper.
