open extracted .wav files with audacity

Why can't audacity recognize .wav files I extracted with GIFScape?

It should. Are you using Open With > Audacity?

Yes. And I can open every other .wav files except the one I extracted from sound/vo/announcer/openingexcercise01.wav. I can't open a wheatley voice with audacity either. The error message is:
"Audacity couldn't recognize file type of the file <file path>. If it is uncompressed, try to import it via import -> raw data"

That doesn't work either.
I can, however, listen to the sound when I open it with windows media player.

Weird. Try updating Audacity?

Falsi sumus crusto!

Ok. Sounds which are not voices, e.g. physics sounds, work with audacity. Only the voices are causing problems. Some sort of copy protection maybe?

Hey, I have no problems openning any extracted .wav files with Audacity. I have version 1.3.13-beta. The only thing the program has prompted me is to download FFmpeg library. Check if you have it in path Edit/Properties/Libraries.

You may be right, P2's vo files won't play in Hammer either. HL2's are fine, so some new feature?

Hey. I asked my uncle, and it turned out that the sounds were 32 bit float and I just had to transform them into 16 bit float. Unfortunately, I can't remember which programm he used to do it. Something from Adobe.

Audition, maybe? It's the most common for sound. I have a copy, PM me any other files you need and I'll convert them.

Yes, it was Audition. :) I don't need any more sounds, but thanks for the offer.
