New "easy to use" map editor for Portal 2 - Dumbing down?

While there are obvious benefits to a massively rejuvenated Portal 2 mapping community... it seems like it'll lack soul and depth. The map shown in the pictures of this new map editor makes it seem like all you can do is simple, clean and obvious maps. No complex logic-work or puzzles.
