Need Help

Hello, trying to fix my problem . Hope you guys will help.

So when i launch my map with console from portal 2/portal2/maps folder everythign is fine,

but when i launch the exact same map from my workshop, i get this white reflection models.

Couldn't get HDR 'mapsthe_shard_v1/c256_2416_-512.hdr' -- Trying non HDR 'mapsthe_shard_v1/c256_2416_-512'
Failed, using default cubemap 'engine/defaultcubemap'
Couldn't get HDR 'mapsthe_shard_v1/c1952_320_-448.hdr' -- Trying non HDR 'mapsthe_shard_v1/c1952_320_-448'
Failed, using default cubemap 'engine/defaultcubemap'
etcetc

Any ideas ? :(

1. Have you build cubemaps (for both LDR and HDR)?

2. Have you renamed the map after building them?

3. What map have you uploaded to the workshop? I mean from what folder?

I build cubemaps HDR, i uploaded the map from a non portal related folder and i did not rename the file.

I don't know that error since it never happened to me, but due to it's related to missing cubemaps, I'd suggest you to do this:

1. After a FULL compile (HDR and LDR), put a copy of your map under portal2_dl2/maps

2. Load it into Portal2, open your console and enter each of these lines waiting the corresponding time each task needs:

buildcubemaps
mat_hdr_0
buildcubemaps
mat_hdr_2
restart

3. Use the map you put in portal2_dlc2/maps to upload it to the workshop. This one is the copy that has the cubempas inside. DO NOT RENAME IT

Confirm if this worked.

instead of copying it, you could just set your default bsp location to dlc2

I do have it that way for loooong time :p Just was quickly advising about what to do in order to help him to solve the problem ;)

I'm also struggling with cubemaps and HDR. How do I set my .bsp location to dlc 2?

Hammer options, in the "build programs" tab.

My stuff:

- Hammer Addons
Maps:
- Crushed Gel
- Gel is Not Always Helpful[/spoiler]
