Need help creating slopped roads and general twists in roads
Quote from Burnout6010 on April 14, 2013, 4:25 pmHello,
I'm seeking help on a particular problem which I haven't been able to solve myself :

What should I do to be able to connect the two roads and the sidewalks smoothly ? (they are on the same level)
Second :

How could I make a slope to connect the two roads instead of a simple abrupt slope ?
Thanks ^^

Quote from Burnout6010 on April 15, 2013, 4:12 amI already knew how to use arches but the second tutorial had an inventive way of making the road, thanks ^^
However, I still can't figure out how I should do non-90 degrees turns, should I use the vertex tool ?
I guess I have to use the clipping tool make the smooth ramp ?

Quote from Burnout6010 on April 15, 2013, 11:50 amThank you, I managed to do it ^^
I tried to make that smooth connection in the road by using the vertex tool :

I did manage to get the geometry right but since I haven't done it right my textures are messed up a bit, even with the Alt+Right Click trick. I'll train some more and I hope it will come :/

Quote from LoneWolf2056 on April 15, 2013, 12:17 pmLooks pretty good, except like you said needs texture tweaking, unusual that alt+ right clicking didnt work. You are selecting each new brush as you go and alt clicking that one? Did you try doing his method where you do the side first then the top. Im sure you'll get it xD.
Also don't mean to patronise but remember to double check that all the vertices are on grid

Quote from Burnout6010 on April 15, 2013, 12:31 pmIt isn't really an issue of me doing an error on clicking, it has something to do with the sides not being parallel between each other, however I managed to make a better one : http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/9798/capture3ni.png
It's really a question of making each sides of the road parallel, otherwise they look odd
