my brush isnt following the grid

how do i get the brush to follow the grid again

You mean snap back to grid again? STRG+B might be what you're looking for.

no its just no matter what size i make the grid it just makes stuff on the lowest size

Have you to turned "snap to grid" on? You can find it under "map" in the menu.
