Info_Placement_Helper Not working through World Portals
Quote from Paradoxic R3mix on February 25, 2012, 10:42 pmIm having an issue with Info_placemnt_helpers when I shoot a portal through a world portal, it doesnt act like the helper is there, and yes, I tried increasing the radius to where the player is inside of the radius, but on the other side of the world portal. It only works when im in the same room with the Info_Placement_help, Thanks!
P.S, I couldn't find this anywhere else, so sorry if there is already a topic, but I looked, and could not find anything related to the subject, thank you!

Quote from Lpfreaky90 on February 26, 2012, 7:31 amWorld portals are known for their buggyness.
The only way you can use them properly is to avoid being able to shoot portals through them. (by using fizzlers, no white surfaces where you can shoot portals or fizzlers)
And only one visible at each time. When properly used they can create very awesome mindtricks, when not used properly they can create very-not-awesome headaches.

They are bad news.Who said that.
World portals are fine! They...
okay, I see your point.
I should have just used big portals in my maps, I guess...@ Paradoxic R3mix: Hey yeah, that's a good substitute. Just hide the frames and spawn big portals mid-air!
EDIT: Oh wait, that means you can't shoot through them at all anymore, nevermind... Post is useless...

Quote from Groxkiller585 on March 1, 2012, 5:04 pmThere is one solution that comes to mind: Try using a combo of func_noportal_volume brushes and func_portal_bumper brushes to force portal placement to be where you want it to be. This should work through world portals because I *think* the placement entity takes where your firing into account which ofc fails to work through world portals, but the brushes are baked into the map and so don't need that.
