replace [mapname] with the name of the map. You have to copy the bsp from the rar you downloaded into the maps folder.

Quote from Skotty on July 15, 2011, 4:27 pmGo to your game list in Steam. Right click on Portal 2, now Settings/Options whatever its called.
Now there should be a new window. Click on "Set start options" (or whatever it's called).
Again a new window opens with a emtpy textfield. Type into this field -console
Press Ok.Open Portal 2, now you should have the console. Attention! If you press any button on the menu, the console will disappear. To open it later again, do the following:
Write this into the console:
bind "KP_MINUS" "toggleconsole"Now you can open the console ingame by pressing Minus on your Keypad.
If the console is open at game start, type "map <MAPNAME>" into the console without "".
For Coop:
Open your game, start Coop with your friend and if both are in the lobby, just press Minus at your Keypad. Now the console should be open. Now type "changelevel <LEVELNAME>" without "" into the console.

Quote from Rubrica on July 15, 2011, 6:11 pmUm... Or you could just enable the developer console in the settings window in game, then press that weird key O can't get on my iPad to toggle it, couldn't you? Anyway, I think he knows how tonuse the console.
Also, by the fact that you're trying to enter the rar filename in the console, it sounds like you haven't opened the rar file yet. Open it with something like WinZIP and extract the .bsp file to your maps folder.

Quote from WinstonSmith on July 15, 2011, 9:56 pmIt's the same on standard US keyboards. The tilde is actually the secondary character on the ` key and the caret(?) is the secondary character on the 6 key.

Quote from Rubrica on July 16, 2011, 1:50 amStill, though, can't you just change the console key in the settings? You have a fair point though.
