Horror map ideas

Yes i know there was this kinda thread called "Halloween is coming"

But i didn't want to be a necropost, so i hope not it's too much to make a new thread

Anyway, some of you may have played my newest horror map "Observating", and i'd like to make a new one.
A new one with less triggers.

I'd just like to know what would make you get scared?
With the possibilities i've got in Portal 2, i'm kinda out of ideas...

What i've got is light turning on + creepy sound + shake + fade... equals a pretty scary scence...
But that was only one scene. What do you think would be scary?

A radio should play a creepy kids song

Pop goes the weasel
Ring around the rosy
Bloody Mary
One two buckle my shoe

Or make a mirror and make a ghost or a monster appear when you look at it.
Evil laughs
Cobwebs (but you need to make models for that, unless if you plan on using portal instead of p2)
A pool of blood
Something following you

Nice :D I've searched before, on how to import custom sounds but never found out how... all the other stuff is awesome :D

I'm going to post something as a guideline I mentioned earlier: Nightmares only exist if the player is alive, if the player dies, then so does the nightmare. If your going to make something scary, then it's wise that it does not kill the player. (Ex. My Mannequins in the Halloween map)

An element of surprise is also good, like a faith plate that launches you in a wrong direction after triggering something.

Crazy is as crazy does.

Yea :) is it possible to make the manneqiuns a ragdoll?

I think so but I don't know how. I know the mannequins are ragdolls when the turrets fired at them in the official campaign.

Yea that was kinda obvious ;) I've tried that before, but couldn't get it to work

Actually i do not fully agree with this. The nightmare in most horror movies is to escape death... there is always a chance for you to die. and you don't know when... but something is hunting you, and its coming closer...

And if you die in Portal 2... you respawn in the nightmare...
