game_ui doesn't activate by itself?

ok, so, i've been experimenting with game_ui to make things controllable by the player, and i keep running into a problem. if i have a button the player can press to activate the ui in the same room as the ui and entities it interacts with, it works fine. however, if the button is in a separate room or the ui is activated automatically with a logic_auto, it either simply doesnt work or i get an error in console saying that there is no valid or a missing !activator. how can i fix this so that the game_ui activated on it's own at map start, or activated by other entities?

EDIT: lol, sorry. already discussed, and i fixed it. you can lock/delete this thread now.

I'm guessing the problem could be that the game_ui can't determine which player is its !activator, and therefore which to control.
