Yes, the func_water_analog only accepts certain water textures (since it is moving water and it has a special treatment of surface reflections...) I remember a thread on the subject where Skotty posted a HL2 water texture specifically used there for this entity. Check this

EDIT: nope, just missing files, lol. Although the water seems a little unrealistic when swimming inside of it. Is this the only texture that works on it?
