Discouragment Beam without the Discouragment Emitter

Is it possible to make a Discouragement Beam without it coming out of the Discouragement Emitter? If so, then I may have a good idea about how to use them.

Crazy is as crazy does.

no, that's impossible
you could try to use env_lasers... but I wouldn't recommend it... believe me, it's a pain ;)

You could always change the model that emits the beam in the options to something small or invisible, but I have no idea if that will work.

Well, if it does work, then I may have found a way to create a brilliant new security device.

Crazy is as crazy does.

True, that is a possibility ;)

If you change the model, the laser emitting..uh...cone will appear at the map's origin if the model doesn't have the right attachment. I used Potatos and that cube thing from the Super 8 map in a couple maps and they worked fine.

So yes, it is possible.
