Custom voices + testers needed

Hi, again.
For my map I want to make custom voices. One of them to be GLaDOS. I tried to follow this http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Making_GLaDOS_speak but is not working. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Plus, It will be nice if I could use choreo (.vcd) instead of ambient_generic because the later plays sounds even if the player pause the game. The audio files I think I can make them on my own using tutorials and using tools such as Melody.
So, if anyone could tell me how to include them into a vcd file and make them work will be great :)
Second, do I need permission? Maybe a moderator or admin could answer this. How I said, I want to make GLaDos speak custom sentences that I need for my map. It will be a problem? I will put it in the Readme file that it contains custom audio files and that GlaDos and such belongs to Valve.
It will be nice to know if I can do this, technically and legally :) because my whole concept revolves around this. If I can't do it, I will have to re-think it. Thanks!

Also I need one or 2 testers. My map has 2 chambers so far. I only need the second chamber tested to determine the level of difficulty of the puzzle. I think is intermediate difficulty but I can't tell for sure. Is just my opinion. Also I need to know if there is a whole in the logic and that players could use other (unintended) solutions. The design needs a little extra work but the puzzle is complete.

My view about Custom maps: I can't truly realize how much hard work you have put into making one. For that alone (finishing a map) you should be proud. So don't take to hard any negative comments that I or others leave about your map and take it like constructive criticism.
PS. Personally I don't like "athletic maps" were when you don't make it you die or you lose a lot of time. But that's just me.

I believe that what you are doing would constitute Fair Use. You should be fine legally as long as you don't try to make money from your map :)

Others have recorded custom GLaDOS dialogue and used it in custom maps already.

in Portal 2, ambient generics pause correctly when you pause the game :D just find the name of the .wav file in the RAW directory, probably the best way to find the ones you want are at http://theportalwiki.com/wiki/GLaDOS_vo ... s#Portal_2

Also, i'd be happy to test the map. I'll be ready in just 1 day, if that's okay with you?

Thanks guys.
Vordwann I will send you a PM with the BSP file. You will tested when you can. Thanks!
About the ambient generic I will use it but until now I get an error that the file isn't in the disk repository.
PS. I forgot to mention. For testing I will need the testers to record they play-through (Fraps or similar) for me to get an idea.

Can we record it as a .dem file (in-game recorder)? It gives the highest quality. Then, we can PM you the .dem files and you can put them in the portal 2/portal 2 folder. Then just go into the console and type play <demoname>.

Pretty much, a .dem file keeps track of where the character is at all times, where they shoot portals, etc, so it is pretty much like loading up a map, but then it plays itself. Very convenient.

Yes, sure. I forgot about .dem.
What should I type in the console to record a .dem? I going to make one for tester (who is interested) to have the intended play-through.

I think you type "record <name you want your recording to have>" into the console.
