Custom Door
Quote from Jexim on February 22, 2012, 2:26 pmSo I decided to try my hand at making a custom door, and I think it turned out well. I'm hoping to get some feed back, suggestions, and comments to put towards improving it or future attempts. I've stuck it in a small room just for test viewing purposes.

Very nice, though I wouldn't say it looks very 'portalish'. In fact it looks like a door which is meant to keep something dangerous in like hazardous material or a giant man-eating rat.

More TF2 style.
maybe colour it gold or a warmer type of metal for the door.
I'd like to see this in tf2

Yea, I made it as a model, the first time I tried using some carving and realized that my brain hurt when I saw how many brushes that left me with, so I went the extra mile and used the clipping tool. once I thought it looked cool, I added some func_doors with logic brances in order to control it, and now it's all tied in through a func_instance_io_proxy.
I agree it's not very portal 2ish, I was thinking more of the escaped section, something to be used outside of testing. something being used to protect something very important. I would like some ideas for another one though, something you'd like to see in a test chamber. Any ideas?
