[Coop] Wheatley's Platforms

A minigame map where the two bots must jump between platforms to avoid Wheatley's attempts to kill them both by lowering them into the toxic goo. Also try to avoid the Discouragement Fields and Excursion Funnel or your game will be cut short.

There is no end to the map, it simply serves as a contest between the two players to see who can survive for longer.

The orange lights on the board signify platforms that are going to drop into the water.

I added a couple of Wheatley lines to break up the gameplay but I couldn't get the scenes to work, so he doesn't move much.

Highs and lows, I think it still needs some fine tuning to be perfect. The second part's done superbly, with the best customized Wheatley dialogue yet; the first one is OK but needs a couple fixes, what with misalignments and nodraws: http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc12 ... -35-65.jpg

On to the point, it was way too difficult for us: we literally had a lifespawn of 3 secs. Platforms descending very fast (consider how short you jump), the lightbridge often dropping you into water, platforms moving in clusters often trapping you. We couldn't live long enough for the laser field to kill us... :( At least slow it down a bit, possibly telegraphing the sequence with some activity on the platforms.

Do people want a pure survival map? Maybe there could still be a winning condition. Dunno how, but a far fetched idea would be about bringing something across the platforms. I don't know, maybe cubes, onto some button or to throw at Wheatley.

the hills are alive... with the sound of music

It was supposed to be very VERY hard, because you're robots I assumed that the amount of frustration people would have would be levelled out. The platforms give you only a few seconds to get to a safe spot which was the whole point of it really, it was originally longer but it wasn't fun at all because you could always dodge it easily. The platforms, laser and funnel are purely randomized so it wouldn't always be the same game every time.
And I forgot to playerclip the laser emitters, so technically those nodraw brushes weren't supposed to be seen. Curses.

If anyone else finds the difficulty a bit high i'll update it so there's another half a second or so to get to another platform. OR i'll just put the platforms next to one other instead of having a little gap in between.

Thanks for the feedback.
