[Coop] Shredder Pit

This is my first coop map and my first map in Hammer. All I really did in Hammer was make shredders and make indicator lights and make the coop door at the end. But that is a lot to learn for someone who knows NOTHING about Hammer. Rate and tell me how I did.

08/06/12 *EDIT*
Uploaded the correct file that is solvable and has more light. Sorry for the previous download.

File Name: shredder_pit3.zip
File Size: 2.12 MiB

Just did a little solo test run and here's what i noticed: (look at the upper part of image)

Looks like you accidentally moved that brush down a bit, making the portal placement impossible,
fix that please.
Anyway,i noclipped to see the rest of the puzzle,it looks quite straightforward.
Also didn't really liked the long walks from the platform to the grating.
And maybe add some more lights, map was a bit dark in my opinion.
Anyway,it's really nice that someone at least tries to make coop maps, maybe we'll see more from you in future.

Sorry. I must have uploaded an older copy of the chamber. Sorry. I had added more light in there in my latest copy, but I don't have my computer with me right now. It is getting upgraded. When I get it back I'll update the download. Thanks for your help!

Oh. And that long walk from the platform to the grating wall is required. You have to get to the end before your partner gets shredded.

Okay. The map is uploaded with the most recent version. Meaning it is now SOLVABLE!! Thanks to Bluntman for pointing out the flaw in the map. If you have a comment you want to leave me, you can either reply here, or on my SteamWorks page of this map.

I'll most likely read it if you leave it on Steam. Thanks guys!

looks really boring, http://imgur.com/a/iMMtj

i also saw these things, sorry to say but i do think those shredders look bad how u have them standing up like that, they dont look natural and they look like they are not supported by nothing at all, and it should have a dark background behind the shredders, and that brush alignment is something that shouldnt happen.

good attempt on first map though, but i am sorry i do feel you have a lot of stuff to learn, i am still learning hammer too m8, so keep it up :)

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I usually try to make sure everything is aligned, but I guess I missed one. As for the shredder on the wall, I've seen shredders oriented that way in the game. In fact, the very first shredder you see in the game is vertical. But I accept the point that they look like they aren't supported by anything. And it probably looks boring visually because the core of the map was made using the PTI. Now that we have all the aesthetics down, what did you think of the actual puzzle?
