[Coop] [PTI] Coop Map: Share It!
Quote from zivi7 on May 18, 2012, 1:33 pmA small chamber in which you'll need to share the test elements with your coop partner to complete the test.
Estimated difficulty: easy to medium.
Check post 3 below for a screenshot.
Installation as usual: Download the .rar-file. Extract the .bsp-file in it into your Portal2/Portal2/maps folder. Host a coop-game, bring down the console and type "changelevel mp_coop_pti_shareit12".
Have fun and drop me a line of feedback!
---
Updates:
v1.2:
Fixed an exploit, a new way to get stuck and some visual things. Many thanks to LpFreaky for finding and explaining those! And of course also for moving this into the Coop-category.
v1.1:
- Changed the PTI catapult panel for a faithplate
- Added a marker panel to make the wall button more obvious
- Addes signs to make the laser pits more obvious
- Added a laserfield in the funnel area so the players can't get stuck in case they go in there together.
- Fixed the heights of the laser pits.
- Fixed an unintended solution.
Many thanks to Chickenmobile and Mumbles for testing or suggestions along the way.File Name: mp_coop_pti_shareit12.rar
File Size: 1.97 MiB

Quote from zivi7 on May 21, 2012, 8:38 amI just finished an update, if you downloaded the first version, please play this one instead! It contains some important fixes.
I replaced the old PTI angled panel with a faithplate. The old bounce was way too unpredictable.
There are now marker panels and signs to make certain elements more obvious.
The funnel now has a laserfield at the end to prevent the players being stuck in case they went in there together.
One element is slightly changed to make the solution easier to pull off.
An unintended solution is fixed now. Many thanks to Mumbles for a thourough playtest that showed some issues and Chickenmobile for helping me get the faithplate to work the way it should.

Quote from Lpfreaky90 on May 21, 2012, 7:28 pmReally good map, got me thinking for quite a while!
(longer then I want to admit)
except for the two tiny things I showed you it's really really good.
Since I know you're fixing those things right now I already give you my seal of approval:
5/5.

Quote from zivi7 on May 26, 2012, 8:23 amBy chance I just heard of a player who ragequit the first version because of lag and the annoying PTI-made angled panel but never told me about it.
Again, if you played that first version, please give the latest one another chance as it includes changes made in Hammer that the PTI wasn't capable of.
Also, I would appreciate ANY kind of feedback. So if you played it and found it absolutely horrible for some reason I would like to hear that, too. That's the only way I can improve it or make future maps better.

Quote from KennKong on June 30, 2012, 1:15 amRedunzl and I haven't Portaled for a while, because we caught the Civ V bug. We decided to start out with what looked to be an easy map. This was easy, but you wouldn't have known it if we had recorded our blindrun. Our Portal brains had atrophied so badly that it took us almost an hour.
We really liked it. This is one of the most cooperative coop maps we've played, even if it was a bit simple. We had a little bit of trouble figuring out what did what to whom and where and when, but it was our problem, not the map. 4/5 from us.

Quote from BEARD! on July 9, 2012, 6:16 pmA nice little coop puzzle. We struggled to get the cube into the other side; once that was achieved the rest of the puzzle was fairly straightforward. I liked
the double funnel redirection
at the end. The glass panels were were drawn on top of the glass walls, which was odd. Solid panels may be better in that regard. An enjoyable puzzle; I'd like to see the idea of side-by-side cooperation developed more. Thanks for mapping.
