[Coop] Paint Mess
Quote from Macgta on May 17, 2011, 4:04 pmFirst map i've done for Portal 2, Focussing heavily on paint, hence the name
I would say it is of moderate difficulty.
Changelog:
3.0: Fixed various issues i noticed in playthroughs (clipping etc...) Added a few puzzle related "fixes" in.
2.0: Put the files into a VPK for easy install/uninstall. Neither the map nor the models/textures are updated so theoretically you could still play this map with someone who hasn't got the VPK version.
File Name: macgta_paintmess_vpk_v3.zip
File Size: 1.25 MiB

Quote from Neoxx on May 17, 2011, 4:10 pmWhy are you making me overwrite the paintsign model files? I figured the ones you have included were your own, but I already have them in my directory. I dont feel like overwriting them with yours until I know why.

Quote from Macgta on May 17, 2011, 4:39 pm@Neoxx: the the paintsign model/texture folders contain a custom model and textures. The only thing they will overwrite is the folder; There may be a folder called "paintsign" ingame already.

Quote from xdiesp on May 19, 2011, 7:03 pmI'm a bit wary with the installation method, would it break the puzzles if I didn't install the various folders?

Quote from Macgta on May 20, 2011, 8:23 am@xdiesp: It wont break the puzzles but you will get a large empty box and a big blue "ERROR" at the start of the puzzle. All the model/materials folders contain is 1 model and 1 texture, Which afaik doesn't conflict with any similarly named model/texture ingame, You can delete these folders afterwards. I would have BSPZIP'ed this stuff into the into the map but i couldn't get it work properly

Quote from stephens2424 on May 21, 2011, 5:06 pmYeah, the reason this has so many downloads but so little reaction is because it's way more difficult to actually install once you have it downloaded. I couldn't figure it out looking around for like 10 minutes --- way too long. Anyone have easy install instructions?

I actually really enjoyed this level. It was quite fun
and involved some back and forth. Was particularly fun getting the timing correct to catch the ball
Quote from infernet89 on May 26, 2011, 5:48 amName of the .bsp?
I can't find that in console, and don't know if there is a way to obtain it from the .vpk.
EDIT: Got some problems to auto-completition of new maps names, now is working. mp_coop_paintmess

Quote from coopcrowd on May 28, 2011, 5:50 amFor a small map this was quite enjoyable, although frustrating at times trying to figure out how to finish it, I think we may have finished it a different way to most
as above a ball is mentioned....what ball?
To check out how we finished this map you can watch our play through below.(You probably don't want to watch this if you haven't completed this map yet)
