June 23, 2011 - UPDATE: The kit now includes a VMF of a fully-assembled "Best out of 3" game map. Just put in the puzzles yourself! Couldn't be simpler!
Welcome to the competitive testing initiative!
A non-co-op map for use in co-op mode!
Sometimes called a "Versus" or "Gauntlet" mode,
this is a method of play where the first player to complete the map wins!
This map contains the early (very early) Beta version of mp_coop_gauntlet with only one puzzle
(the final version aims to feature 5 puzzles when it is finished)
More importantly, though this also includes a do-it-yourself kit for the Race game mode!
Complete with VMFs, sounds, textures, instances, etc...

FUUUU- I was thinking of making the same thing. I thought of having a giant moving Discouragement Field following the players so it's a race against the clock as well.

This was really fun to play over and over for some reason.
Gauntlet's final version will feature 5 maps and it will be uploaded as a separate upload (though I will also update this upload with the newest version).

Really hope people use your Race Kit to create some more races so we can see some really imaginative and original competitive maps coming in to play
Not much of a play through as it is just the beta, but just to show how much we enjoyed the map we made this video (If you don't want to know how to complete this level before challenging your partners in science don't watch this video.)
Short and sweet prototype of great things to come. Bravo! 
A race map is such a fresh addition to the cast, makes me indeed wish for a future race "mode".
We experienced heavy lag in the starting room, looking straight ahead.

I've now updated the Co_op race mode files! Now you'll find inside a special VMF which has everything set up for a "best out of 3" race. It's got 3 identical start and end rooms layed out and scripted accordingly!
All you have to do is fill in the "blank" area with mapping content of your own. I even took the liberty of making the spaces big and wide open for rooms 2 and 3, and left in the updated puzzle room for room 1 if you want to use it as a base.
The style is a mixture of themes all across the board, which is fine since the goal is to focus on the race 
Gauntlet is coming soon, and when it arrives I hope it's everything everybody hoped it would be!
Any new about it ? The idea was really great ! So much pleasure to kill the looser ;o
However, it's a pity there is only 1 room
