Chamber Ideas Thread!

Page 1 of 2Next

Hi everybody,

I can assume there a big part of you that want to make a map, but don't know how do design the puzzle, including me. So, I made this big Chamber Ideas Thread to help these guys out.

Basically, write a GENERAL IDEA for a puzzle. You don't need to make it your lifetime project and write a novel. Just write a single line or two about the puzzle, just to inspirate and motivate people, like: "Navigate a cube using a Funnel in a maze", and I'll update this post is ASAP (Time differences may delay adding ideas to here).

If you're planning to write ideas, keep in mind you're doing so for the commility and not to get fame or advertisements. Any mapper can use any idea shown here, with credit to the writer of it. If you want special credit options (Don't get too far!) state it in the post.

If the ideas are going to be as general as you suggest, I think giving credit is sort of moot.

I would suggest that the best use of this thread would be for people to give very specific puzzle ideas (which are beyond their mapping abilities), and possibly a mapper will like an idea and say "I'd like to use that." In that scenario, it would be appropriate to give credit to the person who suggested it.

I think in terms of boolean variables. Generally, it makes things easier.

I remember something like that in [SP] Bridge Over Toxic Water.

I'm not writing this, as this already present in-game.
