Advice for Mac user?
Quote from toxicdwarf on May 19, 2013, 10:49 amI reckon this will probably turn into an anti-mac flame thread, i'm hoping not but here goes. I am a mac user and am wanting to progress my maps beyond the capabilities of the in-game editor. I'm pretty sure that hammer is unavailable as a native OSX app, but does anyone know if it will run in a wineskin wrapper?
Assuming it probably won't, is there any way to expand the in-game editor? Can I use the console to create items that aren't included via the gui? Can I mod the game installation? At the very least I was hoping I could change the style of my maps and maybe add a soundtrack. (I am an electronica producer and am happy for people to use my music in their maps, just give credit and a link to my website would be all that I asked). I'm eager to get more into level creation / custom story creation, but the PTI isn't even close to providing the functionality/capabilities that i'm looking for. Any and all advice would be very much appreciated.

Quote from Gemarakup on May 19, 2013, 11:39 amThere is a PTI expansion pack called BEE which is simple stuff, but BEE2 will have much more items (including stuff from the other PTI mods that exist) and has ability to add custom items, so you can request stuff.
Here are some mods:
BEE and BEE2

Stylechanger (Once BEE2 comes out, this will be obselete).

Quote from FelixGriffin on May 19, 2013, 12:36 pmThe problem is that the BEE2's C# front-end will be Windows-only. It should be possible to compile the FGEMOD on a Mac after a bit of hacking, but I have no idea how NCURSES works on OS X.
But Hammer should be able to run in a Wineskin wrapper, if a bit slowly. Don't worry if it starts crashing whenever you hit Open on some days, that's normal.

I have managed to get Hammer up and running in a wineskin wrapper. I made a wrapper for a second version of steam, so I can now play windows games too. Downloaded Portal 2 and the Authoring tools, Hammer loaded fine, just need to learn how to use it properly now!!!
I also tried installing the BEE2 mod but the auto installer froze so no luck there.
