Uploading Hammer maps to the workshop

I published a map to the workshop a few months ago, and I was unattentive enough to overlook a major detail. I fixed the vmf and compiled it into a bsp, but the p2map_publish tool encountered some type of error. Whenever I try to open it, an error window appears saying "Steam must be running for this application to function!". I'm really confused about this, because it worked last time I used it, and I haven't updated the Portal 2 Authoring Tools Beta since then. I've tried deleting the Authoring Tools and redownloading them, but nothing's worked. I also tried verifying the game cache. What should I do? I've seen a couple other posts with this problem, but I'm still not sure what to do.

Noone can use it at the moment, same error for a week now.

Is there any way to bypass it?

Not as far as we know. People are searching for workarounds.

Falsi sumus crusto!

Seems to work fine for me, but maybe that's a perk of still using windows XP as my main computer

Aperture Science: We do our science asbestos we can!

as I checked with different dll call, it may only happen on 64bit systems
Do you have 32 bit WinXP?
