SOURCE 2 CONFIRMED?

Page 1 of 2Next

Hey everyone,

get your hype machines ready.
Dota 2 just got workshop tools...
And it has a completely new hammer.

The new hammer does all kinds of stuff source does, and a whole lot of new stuff.
It has a build in material editor,
the particle editor launches from hammer,
maps are saved in vmap format,
there are no brushes, but meshes.

Here's a picture:

Check out more information about the new hammer here:

And you can download the tools yourself under the tools section: Dota 2 Workshop Tools Alpha.

Oh god. That looks like the terrain editor from The Sims 3.

When life gives you lemons, make apple juice and have everyone wonder how you did it.
Musical website Moddb

It has it's ups and downs.

Bleh, honestly I don't like the look of it at all. The interface looks incredibly weird and confusing (much like SFM), and I honestly don't really see the point to these new features.

Personally, the only good I can see coming out of this will be hl2 ep3/hl3

Thank fuck they're finally replacing the old god-awful Hammer editor! It looks really nice and has tons of improvements, from what I've read.

You can adjust it. I have mine set to use four views (lighting/top/front/side) and have a few windows moved around.

However, shit like having to drag materials onto the face you want to texture is still there.

They had to update their programs to be on par with other programs out there. New features are good, giving us more things to play and experiment with. Plus, they are already lacking in terms of the engine.

I personally like the new Hammer look, at least it's different, the dark theme is always a plus.
